Road Access Status: White Mountain Roads (WMRC only)

Here's a photo from June 25, 2005. It's not always easy to open the road in spring!

movie clip from snow cat taken Feb 6, 2008 (avi file)

10-15-11 Snow closed the road above the Barcroft gate in mid-October. The gate is now locked up for winter.

The USFS engineers graded the White Mountain Road in time for the Open House on August 7. The road is now in "normal" condition, rough and rocky, but suitable for all vehicles. We recommend heavy duty tires and/or very slow driving to avoid punctures on the sharp rocks.
