Historia Natural de Escarabajos Pulgas (Coleoptera:Alticini) que Comen Passiflora*
I have been living and working at the La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica since October 2012, trying to tease apart the relationship between severa species of Flea Beetles (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Alticini) and Passionflower vines (genus Passiflora: Family Passifloraceae). Before beginning this current effort I summarized my previous findings in three web pages introduction, HCN detoxication/metabolism hypothesis and ongoing results, photos, etc. Read these for background information, along with articles listed in the Heliconius host plant ecology 1973-1986 and biological cyanogenesis list of articles.
My current progress is informally presented in the blog Color in the Rainforest: Passionflower Flea Beetles and Butterflies and below I will present some preliminary tables and figures.
